Alberta Treaties Road Trip
This video series captures the experiences of seven students going on a road trip to learn about treaties in Alberta.
Dwight Farahat visits the home of the Loyers, Darrell, Celina and Jessie in Calahoo. Darrell shows him the genealogy of his family and they talk about what it means to be Métis. Celina and Jessie take Dwight into their garden and then go into the forest to pick some medicinal plants. Darrell explains some Métis history and the family dances the Red River jig in their kitchen. Dwight and Jessie talk about the importance of knowing who you are.
