Walking Together: First Nations, Métis and Inuit Perspectives in Curriculum
This cross-curricular online resource provides historically accurate and culturally authentic information about Alberta’s First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities for teachers to use as they bring perspectives and Indigenous pedagogical approaches into teaching and learning. While increasing teachers’ understanding of the expertise and knowledge within the rich and diverse First Nations, Métis, and Inuit cultures in Canada it will also strengthen teachers’ confidence to include and infuse First Nations, Métis, and Inuit perspectives and encourage teachers to explore presenting instruction from an Indigenous perspective. This resource is focused on professional development for teachers and supports an Alberta Education program or initiative.
